ECRM's primary facility in Tewksbury, MA, has certified as compliant with the ISO 9001:2008 quality management standard, the latest in the stringent ISO 9100 quality standards. The certification was issued by registrar QMI-SAI Global. more

EskoWorld 2010 Scheduled for April in Tampa

FatTail Announces Self-Serve Diplay Ad Selling System

FatTail has announced the PageGage Direct self-service display ad selling system for online publishers and their advertisers. R.R. Donnelley Wins Multi-million Dollar Contract from Harriet Carter

Harriet Carter has awarded to R.R. Donnelley a multi-year, multi-million dollar contract to produce catalogs, forms, and labels and provide prepress, and logistics services. The agreement expands their longstanding relationship and includes printing support for Fresh Finds, a kitchenwares and home goods catalog. more

B&N Sued Over Nook

Spring Design has filed a lawsuit against Barnes & Noble alleging that the latter misappropriated trade secrets and violated a non-disclosure agreement between the two parties when it copied features from the Spring Design Alex technology in the recently announced nook e-book reader. Spring Design first developed and patented the Alex dual-screen, Android-based reader, in 2006. more

Epson Announces New Thermal Printers

Epson has announced a new series of thermal transaction printers designed to support smaller retailers and restaurants. The first three of these will be delivered over the next six months. One is a compact thermal printer with all-front access for specialty POS solutions and kiosk applications. Another is a thermal printer for small retail and food service applications, and the third is a full-featured device. more

Snapfish.com Provides Photo Services at Walmart, Duane Reade

Hewlett-Packard announced that Snapfish.com, an online photo service, will provide lab-quality photo prints and cards through with Walmart and New York drugstore chain Duane Reade. Customers will be able to pick up prints at the retailers within one hour of ordering them from Snapfish. more

Riso Donates Printer to Museum of Printing

Riso Inc. has donated a fully configured HC 5500 high-speed inkjet printer (along with service and supplies) to the Museum of Printing in Andover, MA. The printer, outfitted with clear front, rear and top panels, will be used as an educational display while also serving as a working printer to produce the museum's printed communications. more

Xerox Develops Ink for Use in Printing Computer Circuits

Xerox scientists have developed a new silver ink that can be used for low-cost commercial manufacture of printable computer circuits, which may allow ink to replace engraved silicon chips with processor and memory circuits printed on plastics, film and even textiles. This opens the door for the addition of computer intelligence to a wide range of products from "smart" pill boxes that track how much medicate a patient has taken to display screens that roll up to fit into a briefcase, and tol wearable computers printed on t-shirts. more
